Rock Bands To Keep An Eye For This Season
Some who are trying to learn singing always dream of becoming a rock star. Who doesn’t? Even when we were kids playing the air guitar to the likes of Slash and The Edge. Now that it is 2011, there are some really great bands to look forward to this year. Most of these rock bands were getting some notice last year and some have already proven their worth. Singorama has a very detailed learning process that would actually require commitment from its reader, a person who is looking into making a career out of it.
Below is a list of rock bands to keep an eye on this season:
Alternative Rock Bands
o Colours of One – lead vocalist Mike Simmonds has a strong, steady and powerful voice that offers the more mature audiences the sound they love – a rock band that is not cute
o I Am Forever – since their well received mini-album release titled ‘The Tragic Tale of Jonny Pumpkinhead,” this band has been under close scrutiny
o Voodoo Hussy (see Punk Rock Bands)
o Max Raptor – this is a mash-up of alternative rock and punk rock. Definitely an alternative sound worth watching out for.
Metal Rock Bands
o Faithealer is a group that presents us with harmonious sounds complete with fantastic choruses. The sounds are well constructed and easy to the ears, despite being a metal band.
o Chickenhawk is a rock band that offers us the traditional heavy and manic guitar play that can be very, very loud, uncompromising, but raw and powerful.
o Isolysis
Punk Rock Bands
o Hearts Under Fire
o Max Raptor (see alternative rock)
o Semi Previous Weapons
o You And What Army
o Avenge Vulture Attack
o Voodoo Hussy – although they are technically an alternative rock band, their sound starts off from punk rock and then gradually gets heavier.
Indie Rock Bands
o Kites – an indie electro band straight out of London who offers a high quality sound that gets the audience on their feet
o The Joy Formidable – offers a different feel to indie rock
o Los
o Simon McBride
o James Owen Fender
o Dan Korn
o Polly Mackey & The Pleasure Principle
o The Crookes – this is a charming band that brings back the sound of the 50s.
Retro/Glam Rock Bands
These are the bands that bring back the days of Bowie and other glam rockers of the 80’s.
o Reckless Love
o Jettblack
Hard Core Rock Bands
o Cars On Fire – for those who love the no-holds-barred rock bands, this band gives us the sound that will never disappoint, only want for more
There are many more rock bands to look out for but the space is never enough, so it would be honest to admit that this is an incomplete list and their order of listing is not meant as a ranking system. Another thing to take note of, the year is not over yet and there may be just some who can come out of the blue and surprise us all. With so much to look out for, let us just prepare ourselves to be surprised with more bands coming out of the woodworks.
